At Bellport Landwork, we identify as a full-service deep foundation pile driving service that covers the North Shore and beyond. We specialize in a range of driven piles for foundation construction and reinforce each site with relevant earth support systems as well. Using the latest technology in GPS, our in-house team can offer customizable and reliable solutions for your next construction project.
Our team is trained on and uses an excavator-mounted attachment for most foundational construction needs. The machine is operated by a single operator who uses a joystick-mounted control panel to maneuver the hammer. The entire machinery is designed to work on a hydraulics system which allows it to pick, unload, place, drive, and extract piling.
Pipe Piles
These are made of steel and best for deep foundations. Pile piles can be open-ended or closed and vary in size as per the structure and soil it has to support.
H-Piles
Made from steel, these piles are shaped like an 'H,' the ideal structure for bracing support.
Pre-Stressed Concrete
Piles These are often used to support deep foundations and are made from concrete reinforced by steel. Tensile strength is achieved via pre-stressing tendons.
Timber Piles
These wooden piles are considered an alternative and budget-friendly option compared to concrete and steel piles.
Steel Sheeting
Steel sheeting piles are interlocking steel sheets that form a sturdy wall to hold back the earth and provide sufficient support to structures.
Bracing
Made of steel, bracing piles offer additional support to piles made of steel sheets.
Lagging
Lagging piles are installed between H-beams offering horizontal support against the earth.
Underpinning
These piles are designed to support existing building foundations.
Cofferdam Excavation
A cofferdam retains water and soil so our team can excavate an enclosed area easily and safely.
There are several reasons why pile foundations are preferable for buildings and structures. In our experience, they:
Hiring a professional team of contractors with years of experience using pile driving systems and machinery can be worth your while. Before we start, we determine the number of times the pile needs to make an impact to get the required depths.
The number depends on the soil and the driving system. If it takes more than the calculated number, there may be something wrong with the soil or driving system, which are then re-evaluated. We can also determine if the soil has a high damping ratio or is stronger than our pile-driving attempts and adjust accordingly.
